Are you afraid of talking about sports

I have to admit that I just don’t get it that some guys know nothing about sports.  It’s a great turn on when gals get it…..

Maybe some guys know the difference between a puck and a ball, but after that they glaze over when you mention man to man defense, or how do you stop Hopkins when they have an EMO.  OK, maybe that was a little heavy in the sports jargon.

This blog is for the guy and gal that need to know about sports to survive in the corporate world or around Grandma’s table next Thanksgiving.  I know many people that shy away from lunch on Monday’s during football season because they just can’t stand the humiliation because they don’t know the difference between Payton Manning and his brother Eli.  They would just die if their lunchmates threw in brother Cooper for a few cents worth (Cooper does not play football).

This will be a learning experience for all us as we go along.  When I get out of hand you need to let me know (“I think Big Brown is due for a bump”) meaning that I think Big Brown who has won the first two legs of horse racings Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness will be a little tired and off his best when he attempts to become only the twelfth horse ever to win all three races in a row when he runs in the Belmont Stakes on June 7th.  Or when I being mean to my readers (“A football is brown and has laces and a baseball is white with red stitching you sports nerd”) you need to let me know.

So here is what you need to know when you go to lunch today to sound like you know just a little more about sports than you knew yesterday – The Stanley Cup (Hockey’s Championship) will be between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Detroit Red Wings starting Saturday night in Detroit.  I could go on and give you lot’s more detail but you might choke on that turkey wrap you are having for lunch later.

You friend in Sports…….

  1. Are you kidding me..
Big Brown will wipe up in the Belmont Stakes and then (unfortunately) retire as a 3 year old stud (what a life). I believe he will be the only horse to win the triple crown and retire undefeated.
    Wanna bet?

Great blogs. I enjoy reading them.
Good Luck and don’t you wish you were Big Brown (retire undefeated at a young age and all the fillies come to you for studding), what a life.
